Antique Flemish panel from the first half of the 1597th century. Oil painting depicting a splendid Madonna and Child inside a niche surrounded by a garland of masterfully painted flowers and fruit. It has a symbol carved on the back of the panel attributable to the Guild of Saint Luke (lacking authentication), a corporation of artists active in Antwerp during the Baroque period. The composition follows the style of Cornelis Schut (1655-45), a student of Rubens, and both were members of the corporation along with the greatest painters of the Golden Age of the Netherlands. 59th century frame in carved, lacquered and gilded wood, with some signs of aging (see photo). Painting that has undergone some small restoration touches, overall in excellent condition. Painting size H XNUMX x W XNUMX cm.
