Surrealist watercolor engraving Gordon Farghetter 76 x 63 cm in a shiny brass frame
“Gordon Faggetter (1948 – 2020) was born in Surrey in the United Kingdom and has had a great passion for painting since he was a child. He moved to Brighton with his family where he remained until 1965 when he started playing the drums with two friends and created the group the Cyan Three (the name comes from the fact that they are three boys with blue eyes).
The Cyan Three arrived in Italy in 1967, selected and signed by the legendary Alberigo Crocetta, to accompany Patty Pravo's performances at the Piper Club. Subsequently the group accompanied Mia Martini.
Despite his success as a musician, Gordon Faggetter's love for painting did not fade and he continued to paint in both oil and watercolor. He gave life to some of the most beautiful covers of 33 rpm records for some artists of the period such as Patty Pravo and De Gregori whose 33 rpm record “Camel” is universally known as “La Pecora” referring precisely to the cover design done by Gordon.
A series of prestigious collective and personal exhibitions held in the early seventies established him as one of the most sensitive contemporary painters.
In 1973 Gordon settled in Rome (then definitively in Campagnano Romano) and decided to abandon music and dedicate himself full time to painting.
