Antique Neapolitan holy water stoup in embossed copper depicting the Baptism of Christ, dating back to the 19th century.

The object presents a symmetrical vertical development divided into three parts in the following decorative registers.

The cymatium features an apical Latin cross flanked by two symmetrical cherubs in the round, while below the cross is depicted the dove of the Holy Spirit in a ray of light that rises above a geometric drapery.

The central body features an oval medallion with the Baptism of Christ in high relief at the centre.

The base features a small lobed basin for holy water decorated with a central cherub's face.
