Antique French desk in fine exotic wood with finely chiseled gilded bronze application.
The top has an original 24kt gold chiseled leather covering from the period surrounded by a gilt bronze border.
The front is marked by five drawers embellished with gilded bronze leaf-patterned escutcheons.
The sides and the face opposite the main one have the same layout as the front (from the centre of the room) and are surrounded like the front with bronze profiles with a leaf motif.
The four feet have the classic obelisk shape and end with bronze shoes.
The interiors appear to be in oak wood.
Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen with traditional shellac and handmade alcohol method.
Provenance: 19th century France.
