10,5 x 10,5 x 18,5 h cm. (with base)
The bodhisattva head is finely made of stucco and has some chromatic residues near the eyes. The face is modeled very expressively, conveying a sense of omniscient compassion and serenity; the eyes are slightly half-closed below the eyebrows that run along the bridge of the nose, the lips are full and the wavy hair is gathered inside an elaborate headdress. Traces of colors in some details.
Encompassing northeastern Afghanistan and northwestern Pakistan, the ancient Gandhāra region benefited from the artistic style of classical cultures.
The sculpture is mounted on a recently made iron base.
