Second half of the eighteenth century
Height 67 cm; Width 37 cm
Elegant representation of the Holy Family enclosed in a refined blown glass bell. The scene depicts the Madonna, Saint Joseph and the Baby Jesus, made with great attention to detail. The Baby Jesus is made entirely of terracotta with crystal eyes. The hands and feet of the other figures are made of wood, the faces of terracotta and the eyes of crystal. The clothes are made of fabric. The figures are hand painted to enhance the expressiveness and sacredness of the moment. The bell rests on a dark wooden base that gives stability and a touch of warmth to the entire composition. All made and worked exclusively in Italy by expert Neapolitan masters.
