Description

Polychrome majolica centerpiece. Antonibon Manufactory, Bassano, 19th century.

A bowl on an oval foot, with a lobed mixtilinear rim. Attributable to the Antonibon factory of Bassano, early 19th century, it is entirely hand-painted in polychrome majolica with floral motifs in the Louis XV style: tulips and nasturtiums adorn the outer surface, while the inner rim is adorned with a small floral vine motif on a white background. The bowl bears the manufacturer's mark under the base.
