A pair of Venetian bedside tables from the mid-18th century, entirely veneered in a herringbone pattern with radially grained walnut and carob panels, with light wood trim. The curved front features an upper drawer with a gilt-bronze lock and a lower door with a bronze knob. The shape is vibrantly curved on the front and sides, with molded frames emphasizing the two-tiered structure. The arched feet, topped with carved scrolls, hark back to the Venetian cabinetmaking tradition of the mid-18th century.

Condition report: Good overall condition, with signs of use and aging consistent with its age. There is a circular burn on the top of one of the two pieces.
