oil on copper, 17 x 12,3 cm
Oil on copper painting depicting the Crucifixion of Christ.
The compositional characters, while betraying evident stylistic features of Flemish origin, especially in the nocturnal creation of the landscape in the background, are by an Italian-Flemish painter active in Italy in the first half of the 17th century.
The painting is outlined by a non-coeval golden frame and depicts the crucifix in the centre, with Jesus dead and covered in a simple white loincloth, at his feet is Magdalene and nearby is the Virgin, with a red alb and blue cloak.
Conditions: Excellent state of conservation with non-coeval frame.
The work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity
