Beautiful devotional sculpture by Mahishiasuramardini made of disposable wax bronze casting. Goddess Durga is represented as the one who kills the demon Mahishi. She has four arms, she wields various weapons and aided by a lion (bottom left) she kills the demon by extracting it from the buffalo in which it was hidden. Behind her an arch with two Yalis facing each other, a five-headed cobra and the face of Kirtimukha (the devourer of time) at the apex. The sculpture is made up of three pieces.
