A halo of sanctity radiates around the girl's head and two little angels are flying above holding a royal crown.

On her right is resting the long pastoral staff; her left hand holds two little white roses, while her right hand affectionately caresses her child.

From their mouths emerge petals which are, instead, pink in colour.

In the foreground on the right you can see the shepherdess' foot as she crushes the snake's head.
