The scene depicts three figures including one standing on the left dressed in an elaborate red and white dress with a cape and lace ruff.

He holds a plumed hat, probably a nobleman or gentleman.

Two women seated on the right, one blonde in the foreground elegantly dressed in a turquoise and pale pink dress decorated with flowers, the other brunette behind her with a fan, perhaps a lady-in-waiting.

The brushstroke is fine and controlled especially on the faces and clothes, wider in the background and details.
