An elegant antique Italian writing desk dating back to the early 19th century, the Empire period. An extremely refined writing desk. Crafted from fine solid mahogany, it features elegant linearity. Two majestic side columns adorn the front and add to its grandeur. The top is made of fine dark gray marble, elegantly contrasting with the wood. It features a long, narrow drawer at the top, while two doors at the bottom reveal a practical compartment and an additional internal drawer. The central section opens, as is typical of all writing desks, to reveal a leather-covered surface with a gold decoration in the center. This versatile surface can be used for quick writing, for consulting documents, or simply left open for aesthetic pleasure. The central interior is equipped with numerous small drawers, ideal for storing small items. The secret is the first long internal drawer, which can only be opened via a hidden opening (see photo). The writing desk is in excellent condition. It has been professionally restored with a conservative approach that has not erased the passage of time, but has made it ready to be placed in your home in perfect period condition. A secretary that can fit in any room of the house, living room, office, or bedroom. Wherever you choose to place it, it will become an extremely elegant focal point. Price negotiable.
