Fine pastel on depicting paper Portrait of girl, of the painter Emanuele Brugnoli (Bologna, 1859 – Venice, 1944).
After attending the Academy in his hometown, Brugnoli moved, in 1880, to Venice where he became a well-known landscape painter, and later also a professor at the Academy.
The subject portrayed here, unusual for him, but from which his skill shines through, is therefore rare to find, in a production concentrated rather on the city of Venice and the Lagoon.
