Etching, example number 10, by Ettore Fagiuoli, dated 1950 and depicting the construction of the Valle dam on the Boite River on behalf of the Adriatic electricity company. Ettore Fagiuoli was an Italian architect, engraver and set designer, born in 1884 and died in 1961 in Verona.
His biography is so rich that it would be impossible to summarize it, so I invite you, if you do not know the subject, to do a little research online.
The etching for sale depicts the construction of the Cadore Valley dam on the Boite river which is part of the Piave – Boite – Maè – Vajont plant.
The dam was designed by engineer Carlo Semenza and built between March 1949 and September 1951.
The engraving is sold with an oak frame.
As you can see from the photos, the etching has taken on moisture and the paper, on the right side, is slightly wavy.
