Height: maximum 220 cm. (height of the stand: 120 cm; height of the lower body: 100 cm.). width: 118 cm. Lower body depth: 58cm. Depth of the stand: 31 cm.
Folding chest of drawers with solid walnut lift. Emilia (probably Parma), Louis XVI era and style. The piece of furniture stands out for a severity of style not separated from a sober elegance, highlighted by the long obelisk-shaped supports, by the refined coeval golden metal vents and by the presence of rectangular raised ashlars that architecturally punctuate the entire surface of the piece of furniture. The stand was designed to act as a small bookcase, as evidenced by the presence of three shelves, the height of which is adjustable. Back and bottom in poplar wood. The piece of furniture, built in a warm blond walnut essence, is in its first patina, so it has never been subject to restoration or repairs. Nonetheless, it appears to be in excellent condition and free of structural damage or wear. In case of purchase, we would recommend a single conservative restoration, consisting of a light polishing and anti-woodworm treatment.
Provenance; Ferrara, Private Collection.
Certification of authenticity and lawful origin of the furniture is issued in accordance with the law.
