Silver-plated fruit bowl for centerpieces dating back to the 50s/60s. Probably made of brass or nickel silver and silver-plated using a galvanic process which definitively replaced the more expensive Sheffield method at the beginning of the 900th century.
The bowl was obtained by turning a sheet of metal (nickel silver or brass) which was then hand-chiseled with floral and plant motifs and then plated using a galvanic bath.
The object has no marks or hallmarks so it is unfortunately impossible to trace the silversmith who made it. However, it is a very elegant and well-made piece and can be used as a centrepiece, fruit bowl or pocket emptier.
measures:
22,5 cm diameter
Height 8 cm
