The artist, born and trained in Lucca, a pupil of Felice Carena, soon moved to Milan, where she achieved good success with the public and critics. Important commissions were entrusted to him by the Pio Albergo Trivulzio and the Ospedale Maggiore in Milan. He participated in the Venice Biennale of 1948 and the Roman Quadrennial of 1955-'56.
She was an excellent portraitist. In this field, she obtained important recognition at the Interregional Portrait Exhibition in Milan (1933) and at the San Remo Women's Competition (1938). Her works are kept in the Pinacoteca di Brera, in the Martinitt and Stelline Museum in Milan, in the Gallery of Modern Art, also in Milan, in the art collection of the Cariplo Foundation.
In the painting in question, characterized by great freshness and chromatic fragrance, the artist combines formal solutions oscillating between the plasticism of twentieth-century taste and the first experiences of the Lombard clarists.
