Gufram Magritta Armchair
Armchair-sculpture homage to surrealism. The green apple and the black bowler hat are recurring figurative elements in the works of Renè Magritte, they are assembled by the visionary imagination of Sebastián Matta in a new seat, made of polyurethane foam and covered in fabric. The ABS hat acts as a structure while the apple, made of soft polyurethane foam and covered with elastic canvas, becomes a comfortable and soft seat.
The name MagriTTA, written with the distinctive use of uppercase and lowercase letters, combines the surnames Matta and Magritte, thus amplifying the homage of a great artist to another great artist. Through the re-edition of MagriTTA, Gufram continues its path of valorization and recovery of the international icons of radical design, thus placing itself at the center of the rediscovery of this essential movement for the history of industrial design
