The clock has a vase-shaped case with ram's head lugs surmounted by a bouquet of flowers: the case is supported by an articulated shaped base with volute uprights. On the dial, which bears the production mark of the elaborate object, Bonniot Martorel & Bergeron, the hours are indicated with Roman numerals while the minutes are indicated with Arabic numerals. The clock has a two-train movement with a bell that strikes the hours and half-hours. The manufacturer of the object, which had its headquarters in Marseille, was very well known at the end of the 19th century for the production of watches and furnishing accessories in the Art Nouveau and Neoclassical styles.
