The work portrays the love of a father towards his son, a subject dear to Vacchetti himself, author in this case of a clear autobiographical quotation. He created it in 1930, a period in which he contributed significantly to the cause of Lenci, becoming its artistic director until 1934, the year in which he created his own factory, the equally well-known Essevi. Sandro Vacchetti was one of Lenci's most prolific artists, he was a painter, lithographer and sculptor and is still remembered by us today as the author of numerous models for ceramics known in the collective imagination even of people not familiar with the sector. His works are of high collectible value and not easy to find on the antiques market, especially those that show the little doll embedded under the base, witnessing only the first two/three years of production of the Lenci factory, from 1929 to 1931. The infinite a father's love towards his son is also underlined in the profile of the heart-shaped base.
