Two-body cabinet in finely carved teak wood and inlaid with bone and mother-of-pearl. Syria, mid-20th century.
Elegant sideboard with a central mirror, flanked by two smaller side mirrors, is of Middle Eastern origin, more precisely Syrian, built in fine and durable teak wood carved with mother-of-pearl and bone inlays. The furniture is entirely hand-carved, with decorative motifs with an intricate geometric design, combined with Arabic letters. The lower part has an open compartment (the interior of which, unfortunately barely visible in the photo, is similarly carved and inlaid), surmounted by three aligned drawers and flanked by two doors. The perforated elements are refined and elegant, the inserts formed by small turned parts fitted together.
The piece of furniture is in good condition with slight signs of wear commensurate with its age.
