We are pleased to present this oil on canvas painting from the first half of the 20th century. This splendid painting is signed in red at the bottom left: C. Rizzi. This is a splendid glimpse of the city of Venice. The painting depicts a view of the famous Bridge of Sighs, a classic subject of Venetian landscape painting. The Bridge of Sighs, designed by Antonio Contin, connects the Doge's Palace to the New Prisons. Its name comes from the legend that prisoners, crossing it, sighed as they caught their last glimpse of the outside world through its small windows. The artist of this painting perfectly captures the melancholic and evocative atmosphere of one of Venice's most iconic canals, with a gondola in the foreground guiding the eye toward the arch of the bridge. The artistic quality is remarkable; observe carefully how the artist depicts every architectural detail with highly personal brushstrokes. A wonderful painting that will enchant your guests! If you've visited Venice and love Italian cities, you absolutely must add this splendid painting to your collection! The painting is presented in a beautiful black lacquered wooden frame with refined details that create a fantastic color combination. There are minor flaws in the black lacquer (see photo details).
