Winter landscape oil on canvas signed Karpoff

We are pleased to present this oil on canvas painting from the first half of the 20th century. This splendid painting is signed in black at the lower right: Karpoff. It is likely the work of the Russian-born painter Ivan Karpoff (Novocercosk 1898 – Milan 1970), later an Italian citizen, but no authentication is available. It is a beautiful winter landscape depicting a snowy countryside with bare trees. On the left, a small river flows along a path with two figures walking through the snow.
