About 1830.
194,5x 51 cm., height at the back: 100 cm. Seat height: 52 cm.
Refined entrance bench from the Charles X. Faenza period and style, circa 1830.
The bench, veneered in walnut wood, is characterized by refined "pallette" inlays in walnut essence, which are seasoned on a background of light and warm maple wood. The armrests, with a sinuous line, are crossed by a dense and thin geometric lattice of fillets, again in maple essence. The band, lined with walnut veneers mounted "standing", is subtended by a marked border in light wood.
Bottle feet in full neoclassical style.
The thin threads, of difficult technical rendering, the elegant line of the armrests and backrest, the motifs of the inlays, very similar to the contemporary products of Lombard and Piedmontese furniture, make this furniture one of the most characteristic examples of the best Faenza cabinet-making of the first half of the 19th century.
