Originating from the island of Sumatra or Lombok, the Pedang (or Palembang) dagger has a straight blade and a handle carved with the mythological figure of a Makara in buffalo horn.
Knives of this type are available with a wide variety of blades. What they have in common is the characteristic shape of the hilt with knobs carved in horn.
The Palembang accompanied by the original scabbard of the time in carved and engraved wood is of considerable size and elegant in terms of shape and patina of the time.
