In excellent condition, working.
The lamp is made up of three hanging caps supported by three wires, all three of the same size, shape and colour.
The research here seems to be focused on the material and chromatic consistency of the materials used which are extremely heterogeneous; a chromed metal band establishes a clear division between the bright orange plastic material and the opaque, frosted and faceted glass that closes the design in the lower part.
Typical of the aesthetic dimension of Space Age production is the use of shiny and reflective materials, with silver taking on a predominant connotation a bit like what happens in fashion. In general, as regards the chrome plating of the furnishings, let's not forget that these are also the years of pop art, optical art and all those artistic suggestions that make a much more lively and industrial use of colours. The imagery of universal space is often recalled, therefore formal configurations that evoke spaceships, silhouettes of missiles, the inclination to connect multiple spheres and circles to each other precisely to influence the mind by remembering the planets, the stars. The galactic scenario now becomes a powerful image reservoir of creativity to draw on.
The designer established a thirty-year collaboration with the Lumi company and this lamp is the result of this successful combination. A patient search for the qualities of materials such as brass, iron, aluminium, all aimed at creating luminous objects with an essential appearance that define a presence as important in the furnishings as their function.
