A small treasure chest of elegance, born in the heart of Art Nouveau. This shaped photo frame, originating from England between 1920 and 1930, embodies the refinement and attention to detail typical of the period.
Made of dark wood, rosewood or mahogany and embellished with a golden frieze, it stands out for its delicate engraved flowers, true chiseled jewels that add a touch of romance to an otherwise sober and geometric shape.
The shape of the flowers is maintained by a wax underlayer.
Typically as for dressing mirrors and hairbrushes, they also used pitch. The frame needs to be polished to obtain a complete restoration.
Perfect for holding a vintage portrait, family photo or special keepsake.
