The end of the Second World War spread the desire to experiment and start again in all areas of society and it was in this decade that what was defined as "modern furniture" was born. The war industry is reconverted to the industrial production of consumer goods and Design becomes a prerogative of the production of furnishings and household items. Sober lines, few frills and strong colors characterize what will later be defined as the Rationalist Style.
