Walnut veneered bench desk. Italy, first half of 19th century.

A bench-shaped desk entirely veneered in walnut, on turned spool feet. The front is divided into seven drawers arranged in three sections: the upper section features three drawers side by side with a pull-out central drawer; the lower sections house deeper side drawers in the two blocks flanking the central open compartment. The corner uprights are molded. The original oxidized metal locks are preserved. The top features a contoured frame border.

Condition report: Good overall condition, with signs of use and aging consistent with its age. Conservative restoration is recommended.
