The lion is depicted in a heraldic pose, with its right forepaw raised and its open muzzle facing the viewer. The mane features wavy, overlapping locks, rendered in good-quality relief carving. The compact and well-proportioned body displays a conventional anatomical rendering, consistent with 16th-century northern Italian wood sculpture. The figure rests on a contoured rectangular base.

Condition report: Good overall condition. Small localized flaws, particularly on the spine and base. Signs of ancient woodworm.
