Ancient Neapolitan polychrome wooden sculpture depicting a blessing child.
The child has naturalistic infantile proportions with a tilted head and large eyes and a frontal gaze and stands on a gilded and carved wooden base.
The arms are raised and open with hands in a blessing and welcoming gesture so that the anatomical rendering is simplified but attentive to the main volumes.
The complexion appears to be treated with pink chromatic modulations concentrated on the face, chest and knees.
The long, wavy hair is original from the period.
Conditions: Excellent condition.
Provenance: Naples 18th century.
