Nineteenth century.
Height: 65 cm.
Refined 1862th century bust, signed “Giuseppe Renda (Polistena 1932 – Naples XNUMX). Made of bronze, depicting a female figure captured in a moment of intense emotional and sensorial ecstasy. The face, slightly tilted backwards, with closed eyes and half-open lips, conveys an expression of inner abandonment, almost mystical. The sculpture plays with the contrast between the smoothness of the face and bust and the rough materiality of the extremities, which appear deliberately unfinished.
The work seems to emerge from primordial matter, as if the figure were being born from the stone itself, evoking a spiritual transformation or the passage between the physical and the metaphysical.
