19th century Italian terracotta sculpture depicting the famous Venus de' Medici, based on a Greek marble sculpture of the 1st century BC, original or perhaps a loose copy/interpretation of a now lost Greek original of the 3rd century BC. BC.
The Venus was purchased by Francesco de' Medici in 1584 and is now exhibited in Florence at the Uffizi Gallery.
