A circular carved marble basin or sink dating back to the early 20th century. A beautiful veined marble (likely Siena marble), characterized by shades ranging from ivory white to beige and golden brown. The outer edge is embellished with an elaborate sculptural relief with plant motifs reminiscent of acanthus leaves. Its design is inspired by classical Italian antiquity. Its circular, bowl-shaped structure with a flared base and thick walls lends itself to a variety of uses in the home. It can be used as a decorative object, as a bathroom sink, or as an elegant and functional container. Please note that it is not drilled, but a hole can be drilled if desired. It is in good condition with some signs of wear along the edges (see detailed photos) consistent with its age. There is a visible mark on the bottom, consistent with its previous location, likely on a pedestal.
