Description

Polychrome ceramic plaque depicting "Saint Vincent Ferrer" (laminated from a mold). Romagna (probably from a kiln in Imola), mid-19th century. Rectangular mixtilinear shape. Thinly molded frames with a small shell at the top and a cartouche pedestal. The back is partially covered in majolica. Two holes at the top for hanging were applied before firing. The plaque, while in good condition, has several peelings on the ceramic layer, particularly visible on part of the forehead, cheek, and right hand of the Saint. Upon careful examination, no previous restoration work was found.

Provenance: Casola V. (RA), Private Collection.

A legally required guarantee certificate is issued regarding the authenticity and lawful origin of the majolica.
