Walnut veneered coffee table with leather top – Italy, 19th century.
118 x 71 xh 78 cm.
A walnut coffee table in a late-eclectic style, dating back to 19th-century Northern Italy. The contoured oval top is covered in red leather within a wooden frame; the underlying panel is veneered in walnut. The four turned legs rest on bulla feet and are joined by a double H-shaped crosspiece with a central turned spool element. The frame, entirely in walnut, features contoured profiles and well-defined lathe details.
Condition report: Good overall condition. The leather top shows signs of use and widespread wear. Minor signs of aging on the wooden frame.
