Charles X, first quarter of the 19th century.
Length: 140 cm; depth: 110 cm; height: 78 cm.
Oval table entirely veneered in walnut with maple inlays and fillets. Emilia, Caro X period. Excellent state of preservation. Given its size, the table could be used either as a living room table or as a dining or breakfast table. The stylistic features of the furniture, the refined plant-based inlays, the thin fillets framing the walnut strip mounted in segments, the corpulence of the central baluster resting on a square-based platform, undoubtedly suggest production in eastern Emilia, more specifically the Comacchio area, which became, in the early 19th century, one of the most dynamic and innovative centers for the creation of inlaid furniture, whose history, still unjustly neglected today, is still to be studied and explored.
Provenance: Ferrara, Private Collection.
A legally required certification is issued regarding the authenticity and lawful origin of the table.
