Wooden part: mid-600th century. Oil painting on canvas: late XNUMXth century.
Width: 192 cm. Height: 172 cm. Depth: 8 cm.
Important finely carved and leaf-gilded headboard. Veneto, Louis XV period and style. The rich frame encloses an oil on canvas, by an eighteenth-century Lombard-Venetian master, depicting the “Rest on the Flight into Egypt”, a theme that seems to wish the owner of the house a peaceful sleep. Given the good quality of the painting, it cannot be ruled out that, through in-depth studies, it will be possible in the future to trace the identity of the artist, currently anonymous. The wooden part and the gilding are in good condition. The canvas is also in good condition, although obscured by dirt spread across the entire surface and accumulations of grease.
Provenance: Verona, Private Collection.
A certificate of guarantee is issued in accordance with the law regarding the authenticity and lawful origin of the work.
