A large sculpture depicting On the upper part there is the figure of Ceres, maternal divinity of the earth and fertility, tutelary deity of harvests, but also goddess of birth, since all flowers, fruit and living beings were considered her gifts; symbol in particular of summer, the harvest season par excellence.
In the composition, very harmonious despite the richness of elements, she is traditionally represented as a young and beautiful woman, holding a sickle in her hand and wearing a crown of ears of corn on her head, which are also found at her feet.
The gilding is galvanic.
Galvanic Gilding: The discovery of the galvanic technique began in 1791 when Luigi Galvani discovered the electric fluid, which is why all electrolysis procedures are called electroplating which derives from his surname Galvani.
Galvanic gold plating is in fact a type of electrochemical process in the so-called galvanic bath, a thin layer of gold is made to adhere to a metal using electric current.
This current carries positively charged gold ions and adheres to the metal which instead has a negative charge. The result is that a uniform and thin layer is deposited.
