Gabriele Mucchi
Emilio Pino di Parabiago
Very rare Genni armchair by Gabriele Mucchi for the Pino di Parabiago company, from 1935.
The only other example of which we know is the one present in the archive of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The Genni armchair was designed by Gabriele Mucchi, engineer and artist, who in the 30s designed tubular iron furniture, in the spirit of Bauhaus and Rationalism, for the Pino di Parabiago company.
Genni, whose name is a dedication to Mucchi's wife, the sculptress Jenny Wiegmann, is one of the happiest examples of modernism applied to furniture.
In fact, in 1982 Zanotta started production of the Genni armchair, with some changes compared to the 30s version.
