Rare pair of large French Napoleon III mirrors from the second half of the 800th century in gilded and carved wood.
The particular shape with "Rocaille" friezes with floral and raceme motifs in Louis XV style is further embellished by the presence of a slender cymatium ending with a precious carving.
The 24kt gold leaf gilding is placed on a layer of bole substance used as a base on which the gold leaf is then placed.
The mercury mirror is original from the time.
Provenance: 19th century France.
