Among the most significant protagonists of the various iconic creations conceived within Studio Testa, we certainly remember "Pippo", the Lines hippopotamus, a hippopotamus-shaped puppet created by the talented Santo Alligo, rightly defined as his first important experience as contemporary sculptor.
Pippo is the now consecrated thirty-year testimonial of Lines-Huggies diapers designed in the 50s but made of blue rubber, which has now ceased to serve as an advertising representation for diapers to become a true icon of Italian designer design. Very rare object, for connoisseurs.
Size:
Height 16,5 cm Length 31 cm Depth 15 cm
It still has the original label under one of the two legs (even if ruined and no longer legible) and the writing "Lines".
In excellent vintage condition, normal wear.
In the development of mass culture, the commitment made by Armando Testa's studio (Turin, 1917-1992) should not be underestimated who, thanks to the contribution of a team of exceptional creatives, managed to churn out heroes of the small screen who have become then the symbols of our culture and our identity, as well as of course the icons of international design of the second half of the XNUMXth century.
