The work presents a good balanced and harmonious composition at the center of which is the Madonna who looks attentively at the infant Saint John as he exchanges the dove with the baby Jesus.

The Child wrapped in a white drapery and painted with already adult facial features and gaze, turned to look at the little Saint John.

The Virgin presents the classic veil and wears a dress with soft purple drapery alternating with blue and holds the Child on her knees in an unspecified environment.
