Coming from an old Madrassa or a mosque, the wooden panel features a series of hand-carved scrolls engraved with the 99 names of Allah. In accordance with Islamic tradition, Muhammad reported that… “there are 99 names of Allah… whoever memorizes all the names will be granted paradise.” The 99 names of Allah are called “Asma Ul Husna” which in Arabic means “The Most Beautiful Names”.
A panel similar in size and provenance was sold to the Interreligious Museum of Bertinoro, (FC), and is an integral part of the Islamic culture fund (see attached image).
