Late 19th or early 20th century
28,5x19 inch
The watercolor portrays an Arab soldier armed with a rifle and equipped with pistols on his belt. The painting on paper, signed by the artist in illegible writing, was then applied to cardboard.
The skilful use of color reveals a marked and casual artistic mastery; the realism of the scene evokes the oriental atmospheres of the late nineteenth century.
The painting has no frame.
In good condition.
