Italian painting dated July 1931. Oil on canvas work depicting a portrait of a gentleman with a typical bearing and dress of the 20s/30s. Painting adorned with a sumptuous and elegant wooden frame, finely carved and gilded. Work meticulously painted down to the smallest details, of great character. Painting signed and dated top left (see photo) referable to the famous painter Angelo Garino (1860-1945), lacking authentication. On the original frame we find a difficult-to-read dedication which should identify the subject of the portrait with the name of Alfonso Sogno, a relative of the painter Garino. The work is part of a husband/wife pairing (see photo and ask for the price of the pair, if available). Canvas that shows some signs of aging, overall in good condition. Painting light H 63 x W 53 cm.
