Pair of ancient oil paintings on canvas with contemporary frame signed Antonio Vallone, a Neapolitan painter close to Morelli's school, specialized in genre portraits, especially of smiling young men and women, street urchins or peasant women from his homeland.

In our case, a young commoner also known as an Italian beauty and a young street urchin are depicted respectively.

The liveliness of the colors and the brightness are typical of the Neapolitan school of origin.
