We offer you a precious pair of wooden angels holding candles, photographed here in detail, carved, gilded and polychrome with vigor around the end of the 17th century
The winged figures, with the body and face captured frontally, in an almost sacral attitude, are placed on bases with decorated plinths and are entirely gilded with the exception of the flesh.
The two figures are depicted in a genuflected position, kneeling as a sign of devotion or reverence, symmetrical to each other, with their legs in a chiastic position and with their hands joined in prayer.
Sculptures of excellent workmanship and quality, finely sculpted; Extraordinary for works of this era is the presence of much of the polychromy and gilding.
The conservative conditions are very good. We have provided a superficial cleaning of the gold, to highlight its original beauty, and retouched the polychromy in the points of wear.
