Ponteduro Antiquities of Ponteduro Carlo
- Via Brugnoli 9/H, Bologna, Bologna, Italy
The Ponteduro family's business has its roots in the 60s when a young Franco Ponteduro, after twenty years of experience acquired and consolidated in the city of Rome, returned to Calabria in his small town of origin with the aim of spreading the love and passion for the timeless beauty of the ancient.
Here he began, at first with great difficulty, to carry out this noble work, ensuring that it was appreciated and loved first by his friends and then by the public. He creates a well-equipped restoration laboratory and, subsequently, a large exhibition space where it is possible to admire furniture and objects of various periods and origins, all rigorously unique and authentic.
Over the years, the growth of the business means that even the children can continue to carry out this noble and fascinating job with seriousness, perseverance and patience. It is precisely at this point that it was decided to broaden the horizons by creating a new sales and restoration point in the streets of the center of Bologna which, thanks to commitment and determination, soon established itself as one of the key points of antiques in the city.
In both locations the rooms house the restoration department, where it is possible to carry out a real "facelift" of the wood, and an adequate exhibition space for furniture and other objects ready for sale.
Ponteduro does not restore except with love, passion, competence and, above all, the culture of fine and delicate work, which combines the quality of high craftsmanship with the necessary distance for the temptation of the easier and more comfortable "industrial touch". ”.
The restoration is carried out on request after purchase, so that the customer can realize the original state of the piece and then appreciate its authenticity and the restoration carried out.
Visiting the Ponteduro laboratory and its admirable works on display can contribute not only to filling your eyes with wonder, but also to spreading love for an activity that does not even give up the restoration of "old things" that lie abandoned or forgotten in old houses and buildings.
